Nobody gets left behind

I love heights.. I love staying on the top of an unfinished building where the sky seems to be in my reach. I love seeing how the gray blob turns into a giant master piece - well that's another story

From all those tambay days that we did during our OJT. Something I saw amazed me most; It was so inspiring, I could watch for hours.

DOVES! I love seeing doves fly around buildings. Kahit nung nasa Malate Catholic School pa ako, I'd stay on the school rooftop watching doves in their routinely flight.

But something caught my eye during one of my dove watching tambays.

You would always see doves fly in groups. I don't know whether if it's like going to school were they practice flying or if it's a bonding thing like a family activity, they are always flying in groups.

The coolest thing that you would see during their flights is how they all go to the same direction at the same time! How do they know when everyone's turning left or right? I think I forgot to observe who the leader of that flock was or probably I already have assumed but just forgot and I also failed to observe how many times they fly around the building; If it depends on endurance or if its a constant number. Probably on my next dove watching I'll do my count.

But the most amazing thing that I saw happened when it was time to land on the top of the building, one of them was still doing the routine flight while the others are already resting. What they did was wait for the solo bird's next round, then some of the resting birds fly with the solo bird, then after finishing that round they all land together. In filipino "Ang galing kase sinundo nila yung ibon na naiwan!". It would have been possible that the solo bird could have stopped and landed by itself but from what the other birds did, I assumed that the solo bird was not capable of that and still needed the guidance of other birds; probably the more experienced ones.
I love seeing acts of kindness from animals. It gives me so much inspiration that we are also capable of doing that, and now from the doves, the message I conclude is: We fly together and land together, Nobody gets left behind.
